Great news about the new class being inducted into the hall of fame. These were good men and good teachers in addition to being great coachs. The sad thing is there is no longer a LHS, something good has been lost.
The Midland Hall of Fame will induct its 3rd class on Sunday October 14th at 6 pm at the St. Anthony Club in Midland. It will take place at the Midland Tip-Off Basketball Tournament Banquet. This year's inductees are all MHS championship coaches; John Petchel - Football, Hank Kuzma and Ed Olkowski - Basketball. Mr. Petchel coached the Leopards to two WPIAL titles. Mr. Kuzma led the greatest team in PA schoolboy history to the WPIAL and PIAA crowns in 1965. Mr. Olkowski guided Midland to another half-dozen WPIAL championships and five more state titles. Also that evening, coaches and select players invited to participate in the 2007 Midland Tip-off Tournament in December will be introduced. This year's teams are Blackhawk, Beaver Falls, Hopewell, and defending champion Erie Cathedral Prep. The guest speaker will be new Robert Morris University Head Basketball Coach Mike Rice, Jr., who is in his first season after serving on the staff at Pitt. WJAS Radio personality and Comcast Sports play-by-play announcer Chris Shovlin will again serve as emcee. Tickets will be available soon. For more information contact Committee Chairman Don Migliore at Rite-Aid in Midland at 724 643 6520.

I haven't seen Kim since the Multi year Reunion in 1997. I remember she was married, but her husband was a bit shy, so I didn't really get to talk to them too much. If you do hear from her, tell her hello from an old friend. She still looked the same as back in the 80's though!!
Does anyone know how to get in contact with Kim Koss?

Since we may never have another reunion, our cash on hand, $293, has been dispersed as follows. $250 for a seat in the new auditorium. The plaque will read LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL - CLASS OF 1944, $35 to the centennial committee, and $8 for 2 cashier checks. We feel this is a fitting way to honor our class and our school. Plan to meet us at the place where our school once stood to celebrate the centennial and share old memories. Committee, Class of 1944 435
I understand there is to be a reunion of all MHS grads this summer. Does anyone know of a 45th reunion scheduled for the class of '61? Please let me know. uz2bohioville@yahoo.com
Thank you to everyone who helped locate the owner of the lost class ring! It was my father's (Dennis Bradshaw) ring, who passed away March 17, 2004. John and Jill Phillips returned it to my mother (Maureen Farnan-Bradshaw) a day shy of the 2-year anniversary of his death. All of us are very grateful to you all for reuniting us with such a precious memory! Thank you again! The Bradshaw Family
Any current or former Midland residents who have any old photos of the Boro, school photos, or photos of prior 4th of July celebrations, please send them to Midland Boro, in care of Diane Kemp, secretary, at 936 Midland Ave, Midland, Pa 15059 or ph 724 643-4170. Make sure your name and address is on them so that they can be returned to you at after the Centennial. It would be a great addition to the Centennial and bring back a lot of great memories.
Regret to announce the passing away of former Midland Mayor William F "Bill" Shovlin on March 8th, 2005.
We now believe the class ring mentioned in the previous post possibly belonged to a Dennis Bradshaw, who is now deceased. If anyone knows any of his family members please contact me at larrycusick@yahoo.com
My mom found a classring from Midland years ago and couldn't locate it's owner. She found it in a drawer recently and we thought we'd give it another try. It's gold with a blue (I think) stone from the class of 1966 and has the initials "D.B." on it. I can't really tell if it is a men's or women's ring. Pass this on to anybody who may know who it belongs to so we can get it back to them. I can be contacted at larrycusick@yahoo.com

I am not a Lincoln High School alumnus however, I take great pride in the high school that my mother and other family members attended. While the demolition was a sad occassion for Lincoln High Alumni and Midland residents alike, we must look ahead and pave the way for new memories and future successes in our new school. Thanks to whoever made the suggestion to check at the Beaver County Courthouse. I may try to do what when I am in the area later this month. I'm not sure that my grandfather owned the house they lived in though. He had a store, I believe on the main street, and I believe they lived above or behind the store.

in response to the email from Gail Kernish...wouldn't your dad's home be listed on a deed that could be found at the Beaver County Courthouse? That's where I'd start.
I'm not an alumnus, but my father was. He would have graduated about 1930. Is there any way I can find out where he lived in Midland? I'd also like more information about the museum that's pictured. I will be in Midland to look around my father's hometown sometime during the last week of July. Would someone be kind enough to give me some information? Thanks, Gail (Samuels) Kernish. email gail.kernish@verixon.net.

Congratulations, Paul! What a great idea for class members and friends to keep the spirit of LHS "alive" even if the building is gone. Remember how much fun it was to decorate the gym for proms and dances. I was a faculty member from 1947 to 1950. You had real school spirit, whether it was for a football game, a class play, a prom or a concert with Mr."D". I'm hoping to learn "how you all turned out" through this web page. MHS was my first teaching posiiton. Thanks for making it so enjoyable. Helen Fabian Mullen.
Please visit our website at www.midlandpa.org for updated information regarding the Midland Borough School District.
Is anyone else out there from the class of 55 thinking "wow, 50th year reunion!" And...geez, lost and found will mostly be dentures, pillboxes, and orthopedic devices, not condoms, datebooks and combs... heheheh.... But...if you are it's probably time to get our act together, eh? Any class members still in town who can anchor and coordinate? Program, venue (s), hospitality arrangements for distant classmates like moi from Qingdao, China and no connections in the valley...hmmm, maybe too much work, yeah? Better just watch on TV. Get in touch, Bruce Graham <rzhaograham@yahoo.com>
